Michael,

The two ink stamps will sand off with 150-220 grit on an orbital sander in about 5 seconds. Use whichever side has nicer grain to you. Some people prefer the least amount of grain, some alot, it's kind of personal preference. What boat are you building? Keep us involved and enjoy the build!!

: Hi everyone,

: I'm back from a trip to Boulter Plywood and the Home Depot. In addition to
: some tools and clamps, I've brought back six 16"x8' 4mm Okoume 1088
: planks. Is there a certain side which should be the outside of the boat?
: My eyes are very untrained so it's hard for me to always say which side
: looks better. One side has two stamps in the corners - does this mean the
: other face is superior? When such stamps wouldn't show, would it be OK to
: use that side as the outside? Any tips appreciated. I don't want to mess
: this up before even getting started!
