You may be able to pull the gaps together without distorting the hull too much by clamping lengths of bicycle inner tubes at the sheer and just pulling tight, or by adding point preassure with blocks.

You can but a lot of tension on the rubber and get good closing power.

if your joints won't hold on their own glue joint when tension is released you could consider holding them together while you glass the exterior with a few well placed cross srtip pieces perpendicular to the grain held in with hot glue.

Once the outside is glassed you will be able to clean up any mess inside with a chisel, a scraper and some sanding.

If the hull shape is currently correct then closing wide gaps could change the shape slightly. I suspect thought that closing the gaps you have will actually correct a shape that has distorted a little, possibly by being left upright and unsopported in the middle.

This scenario is another reason for preferring not to bead and cove. If there is a gap you can more easily slice a sliver and slide it in.
