That's a good idea for a quick seat - use the bottom of a directors chairs, usually fabric with dowels along the sides to slide in grooves in the chair frame.

The magic of my deadline is that I had to start building with no specific plan for a seat - or a rudder(s) for that matter. I have the use of the school boathouse only through July so the bulk of this thing has to be done before then. Still haven't managed to post pictures - tomorrow I hope to have the bulkheads set for the hulls and need to scarf some 17' chine stock.
