I did have problems with a Guilly that I built last winter. The glue seemed to dry in a much lighter color than the Auk that I put together last year. In particular, any slight gaps between strips showed lighter. I thought at the time that it might have been due to cold temperatures - I was building in an unheated garage the dead of winter in Michigan.
The glue lines still show on the finished boat, so the problem didn't go away. I'd recommend that you go slow at first and switch to another glue system if you see any color problems.
