I was hoping to find some evidential, but it won't be easy.

I had a few gaps here and there when I was building my expedition single. What I did there was to glue little slivers of wood into the cracks and then when the glue had dried planned and sanded them smooth. It was the perfect fix but required a bit of time.

The dookie schmooze fix is faster, but it would help to coat your hull with a wet-out layer of epoxy before dookie schmooze filling. Otherwise, unless you are very carefull with your dookie schmooze applications there is a chance of staining the non-epoxied areas adjacent to your fix. And the differences in epoxy dookie schmoozed area hardness compared to the soft un-hardened adjacent wood, makes it a bit awkward to sand fair.
