: I am sure I am not the only one to have this problem, but dispite my best
: efforts I seem to always end up with some ripples or waviness in the
: fiberglass cloth when covering the hull and deck. I have tried it both
: with and without a seal coat prior to applying cloth and that doesn't seem
: to make any difference.
: I generally use 6oz cloth and MAS epoxy. The ripples seem to show up when the
: epoxy is cured to the point where working out the irregularities is not
: possible. Could this problem be cause by an excess of epoxy resin?

: Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I suspect you're trying to put the glass on the boat straight, with the weave following the keel line. The glass won't conform easily doing it that way. If the glass is laid on with a slight bias, from corner to the opposite corner of the cut glass it should fairly easily conform to the surface. Needs to be laid out smooth prior to the application of the resin. Nearly impossible to get it smooth after it's wet if it didn't lay flat when it's dry.

Or might be something else :)

Need more details.
