I haven't tried either of the precise products you mnion, but my entirely personal experience was that polythene sheting was much better than cling film / saran wrap. I tried 6 layers of cling film first, which started leaking immediately and leaked faster and faster. The kayak also felt sluggish and unresponsive - must have been the film billowing out and causing massive drag. Next day I re-did with polyhene sheeting, no leaks, responsive kayak.

In the end I'm sure it's down to the individual brands used though - if the cling film had been hicker and the polythene thinner, the experiences might have been very different. (So sorry I can't help with your specific questions about your named brands!)
