Stern Mismatch *Pic*

In Response To: S&G: Stitching Woes *Pic* (Michael Collins)

Along the bow, the panels seem to line up fairly well along the keel. The stern is another story completely. As the photo shows, the side panels hang off considerably further than they ought to. Should I just keep trying to push the panels out sideways, or at that point, is a flush line just sanded/planed in?
