Very strange that you had this issue as well... could there be a problem with the pattern? I am very happy to hear that it worked out well for you. I suppose that I'll glue the joints with the forms as they are, then try raising them to strip the deck.

A sort of random question, but if you don't mind, how much does your boat weight? How much and what type of fiberglass did you use? I'm struggling to decide what glass to go with and where to apply it. I'd like the boat to be able to stand up to any type of water (not including being bashed against rocks there), though to be honest, this will likely only ever see calm days. I wonder what the difference in weight between the low and high deck versions is... I'd ordered the low, but since the high deck forms arrived, I think I'll go with that for at least the bow, I'm considering re-profiling them for the stern.
