i have run into a roadblock. my dad, who tries to control everything i do with my own money, won't let me buy any urethane from there because he said i can get the same thing locally. i know he is wrong, but i need to know what to look for in a polyurethane coating to be used on a nylon skinned kayak. i told him that the stuff at menards or the hardware store wont hold up, so we are going to look at poyurethane at a marine store. i know that i won't find polyurethane specific to my application, but what will do best and not be increadibly expensive. i have no problem with the price on the urethane on the site i linked to, so it needs to be under 120$ for enough urethane to coat a 17-18 foot, 22 inch wide greenland kayak covered in 12 o 1050 ballistic nylon. and i will be launching sometimes by sliding off of sand beaches, and i will be encountering rocks in northern minnesota's lakes, and lake superior, so it needs to be able to handle the abuse. i need some sugesstions.
