Hi Bill-

You are right- I have seen boats that used aircraft goop that were still watertight even though the cotton canvas had rotted away on the inside. By most reports they're not incredibly abrasion resistant, though. There are a couple of recent posts about it on the Qajaq USA web site if anyone wants to do a search.

There's a link to the company I know of who carries the aircraft stuff below.
