R2K8 – The 10th Annual West Coast Wooden Kayak Rendezvous is just around the corner – August 1-3.
It will again be held at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, WA.
This is a very low key and family friendly event. For those of you who don’t know, Port Townsend is pretty much the hub of wooden boat activity on the west coast and is a very fun place to visit (and there are lots of activities available in town for those spouses that aren’t particularly interested in our obsession).
There’ll be several building demos going on throughout the weekend and we welcome (encourage) volunteers who’d like to demonstrate anything related to kayak building. If there is any building technique you'd like to see demonstrated or would like to demonstrate yourself – please let me know and feel free to jump right in.
With the exception of the crab, shrimp, and corn feed Saturday evening, there’s no charge for the event.
