I've used Pettit's products for many years and use either their brushing or spraying thinner as a wipe for their as well as other brand varnishes and have never had a problem. Their brushing thinner is nice to have as it can also safely be used to thin the varnish, the spraying thinner dries faster, but for your use a little extra time probably won't matter.
