: i am currently in the early stages of building a guillemot kayak and i have
: come to the point where i need to cut my strips. I think i shall purchase
: a table saw as i will use it again. I am on a fairly tight budget for my
: kayak and i would like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to which
: table saw i should buy?

If your primary use for the saw will be cutting these strip and for odd stuff "around the house", a "portable" benchtop model would most likely be just fine. On a tight budget, a Ryobi would do the job. Now, if you don't need it right now and can wait a little bit, I would suggest finding a used table saw. You could probably get a used contrator saw for about the same price or less. A little beefier and just "nicer" all around. Just my 2 cents.
