You are talking about two different operations.
Mixing epoxy is all about getting the ratio correct for the two components. A lot of newbies screw this up and the epoxy hardens real slow or won't harden at all. I never found mixing very demanding. If there is more in the cup you mix it a little longer. Usually less than a minute. There is usually some air bubbles in my mix. It all comes out in the squeegying.
Laminating glass is all about getting and keeping the glass tight against whatever you are laminating it to. It requires a good squeegying technique and going over the layup numerous times to be certain you have worked all the air out and the glass hasn't popped up in the process. Having good light on the procedings helps a lot, too.
