Nice work, Dave. I think that you'll find that building a prototype in this style will quickly get you on the water where you can test the hull form for handling, speed and balance. If you make tightly observed notes from the session, you'll be able to translate this into mods for your next version until you get it dialed-in.

If you have any concerns about the foam compression before you get into the boat, just give it a layer of glass on the inside where you'll be concentrationg loads (cockpit and around the glued in bulkheads) prior to paddling. A prototype is not made for expedition applications, so only build it tough enough to get you to the corrections mode. You do not need to float any epoxy on the exterior weave, just sand the seams lightly to remove the hard fabric edges and run with it.

If you are making a foam cored boat for a longer lasting application, you'll need to put more thought into how the laminates will handle the loadings. This kind of boat is good for a longer term test cycle with little time and/or materials invested.
