If you are going around a small radius curve and not a sharp corner, it can be useful to cut enough narrow strips to cover that section. That way there will be less material removed at the strip junctions when you fair the hull, and less danger of getting the hull too thin or going all the way through. I wouldn't bother with cove and bead in that area if that is what you use. Just bevel with a small plane. If this sharp radius is on the deck around the coaming, you may need to twist the strip with a heat gun to make it cooperate.
