Good point. I often buy larger boards of pine and rip them down to make bench tops because the wood is far superior to 2x4's. Problem is I don't think I have ever seen a 4x4 WRC around here. Someone may have them, I just have not seen them yet. It's hard to find anything but 1x around here. Everyone uses pressure treated pine.
