I am thinking of building my first kayak. I am good with my hands and wood.I am looking at a expedition single for the coast and water ways of florida.I am 6-3 with 13" feet and 175lb.Anyway I have a question about the hatch covers.I like the clean lines of a kayak with the bungys under the hatch to keep it kleen.If I where to roll over and had stuff in the hatch would it open the hatch?Some where I saw a guillemot kayak with a hatch cover that turned and locked down with out bungys or straps. Has anyone tried this?
