: I am thinking of building my first kayak. I am good with my hands and wood.I
: am looking at a expedition single for the coast and water ways of
: florida.I am 6-3 with 13" feet and 175lb.Anyway I have a question
: about the hatch covers.I like the clean lines of a kayak with the bungys
: under the hatch to keep it kleen. If I where to roll over and had stuff in
: the hatch would it open the hatch? Some where I saw a guillemot kayak with
: a hatch cover that turned and locked down with out bungys or straps. Has
: anyone tried this?
Try this site, I think this is what you are talking about. I am building an Outer Island and this is in the plans. I am thinking of using bicycle seat post clamps instead of the wheels.
