The collective didn't seem to have too much to say about this idea.

Sometimes I post messages assuming others have read my previous messages, but with all the daves around here, it may get confusing.

I should have mentioned that I'm going to be skinning this 10' kayak with sheets of owens pink styrofoam insulation and fiberglass. After thinking about this some more, I will build the boat without any thought of such things, then before glassing, glue on a keel, and two chine stringers on the hull bottom. They might improve the tracking to some degree, I don't think they'll detract from anything at any rate.
