Thanks for providing the link Ted. In my case, I think it was an issue of deflection caused by an over torqued ratcheting strap that was used to hold the boat upright. My bad. The spot is in the general area where the strap wrapped around the hull. Guess I learned the hard way.

FWIW, I can take some consolation away from this experience seeing that the area is relatively small and limited to the hull and not the deck.
