Hi Bill - just got back from 2 weeks of rain and fog in Cape Breton. Left my cat on the car (in the garage) while I was gone. I think mine weighs about 45 pounds, but still needs skin and seat - I'm jealous yours is so light. But I expect mine to be a long-term test bed so it's overbuilt intentionally (well).

I needed help to get it on and off the car, as it is awkward to handle - I think I will wind up putting handles at the balance point of each hull. I had to put it back on the car solo so wound up dismantling the 2 hulls - only took 10 minutes to take apart the hulls and the bonus is that they fit together onto a normal kayak carrier afterwards.

I start teaching next week, so won't be finished till after Labor Day, I reckon. Looking forward to seeing some pics of yours - have you come up with a name for it yet?

Cheers, Carl.
