Hello again Brad
Yes, I got the plans from Wooden Boat Magazine (their online shop).
I am pleased with the plans, they provide all information that is necessary to build the boat.
But, is i mentioned the last time, i believe (but I donīt know) that you will get more information in a more modern set of plans from for example Pygmy, Cheasapeake or One Ocean Kayaks.
The plans consists basically of drawings of who to layout the panels on plywood, including detailed measurements (see the picture below). So what you do is to transfer the measurements from the plans to the plywood sheets.
It takes some time, but i felt that you will get a very precise result and the instructions are very good.
There are also full scale plans for the smaller parts (skegbox, skeg and some more).
The plans also contains instructions about how to place the panels when they are glued too full length.
You draw a guideline on your working table and the plans gives exeakt measurements on how to place the panels in relation to that guideline so that your complete panels will have the correct form.
The written instructions are a little more than 40 pages wich works well together with the plans.
What you donīt get (and what you might get with a more modern design) is detailed measurements about how the rocker of the keelline are supposed to be.
You donīt either get many pictures of the completed kayak or details.
I didnīt find this to be any problems though. There are some sketches on the most important details, and the rocker of the keel line almost formed itself when i stitched the hull. I put some kilos weight in the middle of the hull and some outside support under each end, just to keep control over the hull form when glueing.
There was only one problem i found, but it might have been myself doing a bad transfer of the panel to the plywood sheet. It was on the aft deck.
On Seguin you donīt bend the plywood, the deck has a scarf lentghwise an is glued together at a small angle. So when the panels are ready you will have two panels for the fore deck and two for the aft deck.
When i laid the two aft deck panels on a flat area and positioned them as i would later on the boat, they met at two points. That was the aft point and at the cockpit, as expected. In the middle the panels overlapped 2-3 millimeters.
When I tried to make the aft deck fit I had problems with this. Finally, i carved a new curvature on the panels so that they didnīt overlap but on the contrary there was 2-3 millimeter of air in the middle. Then i had no problems.
The foredeck is designed in this way, with a couple of millimeters of air between the panels in the middle, and when you stitch them together it creates i fine curvature.
So maybe i just did a bad work when laying out the aft deck panels.
Overall I found the plans and the instructions easy and pleasent to work with, and the Seguin is a lovely kayak. So, if you donīt think you will need information about keel line rocker and maybe some more, then there are no problems with the drawings.
I started in november and was ready in early may the next year. I didnīt spend all weekends on building, and some weekends were short jobs (like doing a glueing job).

This is a norwegian guy who built a Seguin some years ago. He has written a very detailed building report in english.
I hope at least some of this is helpful (and possible to understand, iīm not very used to write englsh :-)).
Good luck with your kayak!
