After researching - well, nagging everyone about what I should do - I decided to make it my mission to get a Goretex Kokotat. I worked extra jobs and saved the money for about 6 months. Then I found a 15% off sale. I just decided I would rather spend $900 for something highly rated rather than spending half that and being disappointed.

On warmish days if I get too hot I can stop for a bit and I cool right down and I don't really get clammy that way. I doubt I could say the same with a cheaper alternative.

It has also changed my paddling habits. Now I work in the shop on hot days and kayak year round. It's great - no people are out in the winter and I'm toasty and dry. It makes wind and rain fun.

I got the sewn in boots. Although I haven't tried the non-boot type, every time I slip on the dry suit I know I made the right choice.
