US Kayaker Drowns in Banff National Park
By Allison Bailer
Just discovered this story. I thought it would sreve as a reminder to those who paddle in frigid waters: suit up and wear that pfd. Alpine waters are always damned cold...if you tip, you don't have much time to self-rescue. Does anyone know the man who drowned?
Here is the story copied directly from the site I found it at:

R-C-M-P say a man from the U-S presumed drowned while kayaking in Banff National Park was not wearing a life jacket. Matthew Andre Brown of Gainesville, Florida was boating on Bow Lake on Saturday when heavy rain and a strong wind hit the area. His kayak and personal belongings were later discovered along the shore but the body of the 30-year-old man has not been found. Police say they are treating the incident as a missing person's case and will continue the search when time allows. (The Canadian Press)
