For many years I used a Gortex suit with no relief zipper or booties. Now that I have one with booties, I would highly recommend them. Your feet are simply warmer and thus, you entire body is warmer and... putting the suit on and off is so easy now. The relief zipper.. I used to slide down an old bicycle type of water bottle to pee. You're not going to go in the boat even with the relief zipper because of the position so the relief zipper is a nice luxury but the booties are now mandatory for me now that I have experienced them. You want breathable and I know how expensive things are, so that decision you'll have to make. I will say that Kokatat guarantees their suits like no other company will.
