There's no reason you can't get 15 years out of a suit. You will have to replace seals every 4 years or more. The fabric starts to gradually wear out at the underarms and other contact friction areas. But you can patch that if you have to. The waterproof zippers may start to leak. A lot of my fellow paddlers send they Kokatat suits in for a pressure test but you can do that yourself in a bath tub by sealing off the neck arms and leg seals with plastic cups. If you lube your zippers and don't ever leave them closed, they can last forever. Kokatat has care articles on their site. So much depends on your use and care.
