Take your''smoothed'' paper templates to a nearby wall and tape them down. Tape a ruler under your plans. Put a digital camera on a tripod, set it square and parallel to the wall, and make photos (rather than scans) out of them. High res is not necessary. Photo editing software will let you vary the size to fit a conventional printer, and you can treat each frame the same so everything matches up. Save the pix as jpegs if that is the format which you can import into the boat design software.
You can import each frame onto a separate layer to make a composite of all the cross-sections. Align the images on their layers so your baseline, centerline, and waterlines match from image to image. If one image is a bit twisted, you can rotate it to get it straight.
The images can be imported into drafting/drawing programs, too. Many of these have tools for measuring. Typically you pick 2 points and the software draws a line between them, and displays the distance. Use the image of the ruler, and scale your drawing in the software so that it is lifesize, or half that, if you wish.
Hope this helps.
