It is possible and generally very easy to build in additional room by adding height to the deck. I'm 6'2", 220#, size 12 shoe. I increased the height of the deck on my Outer Island by adding 1/4" to the station just forward of my feet, increasing gradually to 1" by the leading edge of the coaming. The boat handles no differently as the hull is unchanged and my weight is well within the designed capacity of the boat. Visually it's hard to tell the difference. Jay Babina was very helpful throughout the process, as I'm sure Nick or any other designers would be. So if you like the way the hull handles, but need just a little more room, modify.
