Some people feel the need to build on skegs. Others love the handling. If you like to play in the surf, you'll want different handling than someone who wants to go in a straight line for a long distance.

Unless you change the rocker, adding length to a design tends to improve tracking, while adding beam tends to do the opposite.

Not a problem with stripbuilt designs. Cut the forms according to the specifications. After you get the hull stripped, you can add shims to the tops of the forms to get any height you want for legroom. Lay a few scrap strips over these to help with developing a fair shape, then put on your real strips.
