Biggest problem I think, other than too thick resin, is temperature. If the temperature of the boat and/or air is too cool the resin won't flow properly and the bubbles stay in suspension. I've done alot of fiberglass with conventional foam epoxy rollers and while they generate a bunch of micro-bubbles with warm temperatures they all float to the surface and pop on their own. If I try to cheat on the temperatures though they stay in suspension and you get an icky looking surface.
