I forgot Nick's Petrel was a stripper. Absolutely you need glass on any stripper. My Cape Charles was a S & G. I have one stripper that's over 10 years old and gets used regularly and even with the 6 oz glass that was used on it, it still can develop stress fissures along a strip joint on occasion.
