Hi Patrick,
My comments applied to an external strongback, not an internal one. I've not used an internal one, so perhaps someone else might be able to help you. You can search this site for previous posts on this matter. There have been some pretty refined techniques posted by some. You should read them and see. Otherwise gets Nick Schade's book. He explains it all in there as well.

: i am about to align forms on an internal 2x4 strongback....

: what ...start aligning them at the rear? I will try it.

: My method has been to string them all on...sandwich the forms
: in place with small blocks as usual...get them close...then shoot
: an additional screw into one block to put a really tight squeeze on the
: forms.
: (this additional screw goes between the form and the screw already in the
: block)

: then nudge things into alignment over and over and over...flip it upside down
: and do it again...flip it back over and check it...glue it in place.
