Strip: Night Heron - high or normal deck

Hi,

I'm about to embark on my first strip-build - the Night Heron. I've built the strongback, and glued the forms to panels ready to be cut out (small issue with glue I used causing the paper to wrinkle a bit, but am fixing that).

But....which one to build?? I understand the lower-profile version ois the original? Is that correct? I only really do day trips and don't have huge feet (size 9) so apart from volume, is there any advantage to the high deck version? (And I have a Chesapeake 17 if I want load carrying and stability).

I was interested to read on the plans that the low deck version has "less final stability" - why is this? Hull profiles up to deck level are identical.

Thanks for any opinions, thoughts, etc.

Regards,
