It's been a while but I remember reading one of your posts where you didn't keep adding epoxy to lose the weave texture.

So it's the sanding the texture off after in between epoxy coats that I'm referring to. I wet out the glass then come back with a second coat of epoxy after it's past tacky. After the second coat has hardened enough to sand I use an orbital sander to remove any texture while trying not to get into the glass itself. Then after a through clean up I add a skim coat of epoxy. When that has hardened several days I sand again by hand with a block before adding varnish. I've never had a crack or puncture but I never paddle through rock gardens in the surf either.
