Sounds about right, price wise. Well, not RIGHT, but that's the price. When I was making my first Yost-style kayak I was using my own measurements and so I used regular exterior 1/2" plywood as test frames. Because I rarely folded the kayak I wound up using those frames for almost 2 seasons!
I probably will not make any more folders (I have 3) but if I did my #1 choice would be to have aluminum tube cross frames with some kind of plastic clips for the attachments. That would be extremely hard to do I think, but it would be a nice boat.
