I agree with Bryan, 3.2 oz. tight weave glass really reduces the epoxy. My latest boat is 20'X 20" and I have used less than a gallon of epoxy. I used one layer of 3.2 oz. glass with only one fill coat needed. The inside hull and deck have only the wet out coat, but have unidirectional carbon cloth ribs, strategically placed. The single layer is just as clear as 4 or 6 oz. plain weave. To reduce weight even more, I opted for 5/32" hull strips and 1/8"deck strips. I love working with this glass, It drapes beautifully, wets easily, uses much less epoxy and sets up quicker, allowing for the single fill coat a few hours later. Multiple layers are probably best for rough use but I opted for a single layer to try and achive a sub 30# boat. I'll let you know how my grand experiment works out.
