: I just don't know what size a good workable batch
: of resin is.

I used Raka and the pumps and I found that batch size to be fine when doing the hull. I even doubled the batch when wetting out glass. If your using the fast setting then it might an issue but unless you were really slow I doubt it.

Besides it's only going to take one or two batches to know. So it's not like your going to waste a lot

: Should I get the pumps?

My opinion is they are worth it for the convenience and cleanliness alone! I marked both of mine at the half way point for smaller batches but I like Pauls idea better.

My wife saves me plastic bowls that food comes in. Any epoxy left in there will not stick and can be peeled out and the tub used again. I use them for all sorts of stuff in the shop.

: Should I mess with a bubble roller, or depend on a squeegee?

I have never used a bubble roller. Always used a squeegee. Nothing against one, just never bought one. So you 'can' get by with a squeegee only. But it might be worth it to buy one. I will have to defer that to someone that has used them. Always looked like a pain to clean to me so I have hesitated to buy one.
