I built a Yost Sonnet and found the build process fun and interesting. One error I made was to opt for the narrower hull. At 205 pounds I eneded up with no freeboard. Thus unless I have a very tight spray skirt seal, it is a wet ride. I would enjoy the boat a lot more had I made it a bit wider.

That said, I recommend you build one. There is a definite COOL factor in taking out a bag and in a little time you have a kayak ala Bond - James Bond.
