: point of the opening just behind form 10 so I guess this is where the seat

What I've done: make the cockpit and then try the boat without the seat, usually takes a little shifting around (fore and aft) to find the sweet spot where the boat balances best, then you know where the seat has to go. Otherwise the seat location is a guess.
