Thanks for all the help everyone. I went to Lowes today and they have WRC boards. For a 1"x6"x10' it was $13.50 Not too bad. The quality wasn't too great but I figure I only need 5 or 6 good boards for my boat.

Another question... The Great Auk is 17' long. I'm not sure I should even try to find 2x4 of sufficent length that is rear straight enough to use.

Any recomendations for a strongback of this length. I was thinking of using plywood but of course they only come in 8'....
