Bill, Copy the links and files you want onto a CD if possible. That way the next machine can look at the CD for bugs before you install them. Dig around and find the disk with the original operating system that came with the computer (or one you've bought since). When you're done saving the files you need use the operating system (windows) disk to reformat and reinstall. This is a pain in the stern and will cause a bunch of excess paddling around but you'll have a pc that is free of zebra mussels and algae that will feel like you have a fresh tail wind pushing you along.

Once you get up and running you will need to quit looking at pictures of naked paddles which is probably how the worm got there in the first place.
