: Good idea on running it w/ no load. We have had a couple of cold fronts come
: through (dropped all the way down to 55 deg F.(13 C ) last night and
: the humidity has really dropped. Good time for washing and drying..
: I do have a press for bearings, just don't want to go to that trouble ..
: yet.. I made a bearing spinner by tapering a short dowel, putting a screw
: in the opposite end and spinning it with a drill. I spin the inner race
: and flush the bearing with rust blaster then lithium grease.. (for the
: bearings that come off the shaft as in the big wheels of my band saw.) For
: spinning the outer race, I use a cloth and pull back and forth as one
: might polish shoes.
: Thanks for the input everyone!

I sorta know what you're going thru, had all my extra wood (cedar, mahogany, and a little bit of a few exotics) all stored in a friends shop, that got flooded with all the rain this spring and early summer. Stuff floated for almost a month in very muddy warm fresh water for almost a month before we could get relatively safe access, every piece was so warped that it had to be tossed.
At least my tools weren't there.
