The best designed kayaks in the world can feel like junk if you are not comfortable. Snug hip and thigh braces can also contribute to legs going asleep so you only want light contact with no pressure.

It took me several months to get a good fit with a Happy Bottom seat in a Coho, cutting off the hip pads and placing the right thickness wedge in the front did the trick. Then I switched it out for one of Joe's seats and it was even better. I no longer have the Coho but my King, Mystery and Illusion all have Redfish seats. They are sculpted perfectly for most butts, just need to match the hull contour to the bottom.

Look at Joe's site and do the math, the presculpted is only $12.more than the foam blank.

I have done 11 and 12 hour days with them, no problem, so for me, the Redfish seats are highly recommended.
