I have one of Joe's seats in my Shooting Star, and a seat I made from his sculpted blank in my wife's Storm SLT (photo b'lo). She needed a high seat back for her cranky back, so the semi-custom route proved best. On long paddles in the SS I have no problem with Joe's seat, which has a very low back (see link), whereas I used to have dead legs with the stock air-mat seat in my Coho. On the Coho, I angled the seat bottom a lot by inserting a wedge of camping mat under its front edge. That helped a lot, as did extending the mat a bit under my thighs. All that said, however, you can't go wrong with one of Joe's seats.
