: Did you ever publish anything about your paddle around Vanua Levu?

I wrote the trip up though haven't actually published it. What with a bit more time available (ha ha) due to retirement, I could actually do a printing of it. The trouble is more trips keep piling up and needing collating - still haven't sorted all the pictures from the 2 month trip (by train and car) around the west of Australia. Have done the 2 month trip May - June this year. And then the Guide to Banks Peninsula really needs updating and printing and I suspect New Holland might want a second edition to the Sea Kayaker's Guide to New Zealand's South Island. Does that mean I need to stop building a paddling for a while? Just painted the deck of the new kayak - might try it out tomorrow - supposed to be a (warm) nor'west gale - could be exciting.

Fiji - a lot of lost time waiting for the tide otherwise you end up with a 1/2 km or more walk to the beach carrying loaded kayaks across the coral. We also lost 9 days - a day due to our leader not being ready, 3 due to our leader deciding to go round the wrong way, 3 waiting for a 30 knot gale to abate, 2 due to messing about when we should have been paddling. When our leader pulled out from the group we got going and did things properly.
