Thanks Rod, that was my apprehension after I had marked out the hatch on the deck, particularly after taking away ~16mm/side for the lip; that's why I was keen to have experienced opinions from this forum. The advantages to having a larger hatch are obvious but are there any disadvantages or traps for the unwary in having a larger hatch eg deck strength, rigidity, lip sealing, etc?
