I would start at the centerline and work out. As the stripping became too tough I would then fair a curve that compliments the deck shape, trim back to that curve and begin stripping from that line, lather, rinse, repeat... With the strips all following the organic lines of the deck it would probably look better if all the strips were of uniform width.
Alternately, strip all the flat-ish areas parallel to the centerline leaving the severe curves to be fitted afterwords, kinda like a curvy inlay on simpler deck. Reverse this if you prefer fitting millions of pieces to cutting into the deck.
Either way, 1/2" x 1/4" strips should bend ok for most. 3/16" strips may not leave enough room for fairing those curvacious lines.
