I meant fillets VS taped joints. Not a fillet over glass. I had to reread my post to understand yours.

I have seen people tape together boats with no fillets, just glass tape the joints. They were glassing the outside of the hull so that would tie it all together. That is why I asked. Matter for fact that is how I built my first kayak years ago and had no problems.

I don't see why a taped joint with proper application wouldn't hold just as good as a fillet but I am asking.
